AIR INDIA EXPRESS TO EXPAND OPERATIONS TO DUBAI

AIR INDIA EXPRESS TO EXPAND OPERATIONS TO DUBAI
Air India Express, which currently operates 48 flights per week to Dubai from 12 Indian cities, announced it is on an expansion spree. The airline will add nine more flights from three more Indian cities to Dubai, effective Jun-08.

 

Air India Express, which is into its fourth year of operations, will now also have flights to Dubai from Hyderabad, Goa and Pune.

Hyderabad-Dubai

The flight from Hyderabad to Dubai will be introduced on 05-Jun-08, operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Goa-Dubai

The flights from the tourist city of Goa to Dubai on a thrice weekly basis will be launched from 17-Jun-08.

Pune-Dubai

Air India Express will be reintroducing its flights from Pune to Dubai from 18-Jun-08, Air India Express previously withdrawn this flight due to the closure of runway in Pune. There will be three flights a week departing Pune on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

With the introduction of these nine new flights, Air India Express will now have 162 weekly flights taking off from 16 Indian cities inclluding Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Mangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Trichy, Amritsar, Nagpur, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Pune, Hyderabad and Goa. The airline has 12 international stations on its network including Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Al Ain, Salalah, Bahrain, Doha, Colombo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

Air India Express fleet currently comprises of 18 B737-800 aircraft. By the end of 2009, it will have 25 aircraft in its fleet – 7 leased and 18 owned.
