Mr. Viswapati Trivedi assumed the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Indian Airlines on 14-Jan-06.
He took over from Ms Sushma Chawla, who has held the post of Acting CMD for the past seven months.
Mr. Trivedi is a post-graduate in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a Doctorate in International Finance from Simon Fraser University, Canada. Prior to taking over as CMD, Mr. Trivedi was Joint Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He also had a four-year posting with the International Monetary Fund. |
