Indian Airlines launches new flexible domestic fare scheme
Indian Airlines launched (6 July) a flexible domestic fare scheme, Easy Fares, offering discounts of up to 60%, under a complete overhaul of its fare structure.

The carrier has eliminated advance purchase fares (Apex). Under the Easy Fares scheme, reservations can be made in four fare classes. Only when allocation for a particular level has been met does the next higher fare level automatically become applicable. However, the number of seats available under each level will be dynamic. Frequent flyers will be allowed 75% and 50% of the normal mileage points on the two higher levels respectively but no mileage points will be accrued on the other levels.

Indian Airlines has also announced (5 July) a new coupon scheme offering discounts of up to 50% on normal domestic fares, for travel until 31 March 2006. Books of 12 coupons for travel to all destinations in India cost USD1,114, or USD93 per sector.
