Air India filed (29-Sep-05) a case in Ernakulam District Court against Cochin International Airport Ltds (CIAL) plans to provide ground handling services to new operators at Cochin International Airport.
Air India stated that CIALs plans conflict with its ten-year ground handling concession at the airport, which is due to expire in 2009.
Meanwhile, Air India announced (10-Oct-05) plans to invest INR1 billion to establish MRO centres in Thiruvananthapuram and Delhi. The centre in Thiruvananthapuram would be developed on 15 acres of land provided by the Kerala State Government. The Thiruvananthapuram facility would service Air India Express' fleet of B737-800 aircraft, while the Delhi facility would primarily handle B777 aircraft. |
