Malaysia Airlines to launch daily Delhi service and defer other expansion plans
Malaysia Airlines increased (10-Oct-05) Kuala Lumpur-Delhi service from four times weekly to daily on 31-Oct-05, using A330 equipment.

The move boosts the total seat capacity on Kuala Lumpur-Delhi sector to 2,030 seats from the present 1,160 seats per week. Malaysia Airlines currently operates 33 weekly services from Kuala Lumpur to seven destinations in India, including:

  • Kuala Lumpur-Mumbai/Chennai service (daily);
  • Kuala Lumpur-Ahmedabad (four times weekly);
  • Kuala Lumpur-Bangalore/Hyderabad/Kolkata (three times weekly).

Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines announced (19-Oct-05) it has deferred plans indefinitely to operate services to new destinations such as Amritsar and Cochin, as a step towards cutting costs and improving performance.
