German carriers increase focus on India
Condor Airlines, member of the Lufthansa Group, announced (20 July) plans to operate seasonal services to Goa and Kochi later this year.

Condor previously operated charter services to the cities, but will now introduce scheduled services to take advantage of the new bilateral air services agreement between Germany and India.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa announced (20 July) plans to add six new weekly frequencies connecting Frankfurt with Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, and Munich with Delhi this October. Further details were not disclosed. Lufthansa will operate a total of 38 weekly frequencies between Germany and India. Lufthansa also confirmed (23 July) it is considering resuming services to Kolkata from Munich and Frankfurt from October 2006.
