Air India, which has been a pioneer patron of sports, has 15 of its employees playing in the second Indian Premier League currently being played in Centurion, South Africa. Barring Kolkata Knight Riders, Air India has representation in all the other 7 out of the total 8 teams.
While M S Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh are the captains of Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings XI respectively the 13 other players representing Air India are Suresh Raina Chennai Super Kings; Irfan Pathan Punjab Kings XI; V V S Laxman and R P Singh Deccan Chargers; Harbhajan Singh and Dhawal Kulkarni Mumbai Indians Naman Ojha, Siddarth Trivedi and Paul Valthaty -Rajasthan Royals; Pankaj Singh, Tejashwi Yadav and Rajat Bhatia Delhi Daredevils and Robin Uthapa Royal Challengers.
Apart from these players, Air Indians Pravin Amre and Satish Samant are in South Africa as coaches.
