IndiGo confirmed it is planning to commence services anytime between 01-Jul-06 and 05-Aug-06 with A320 aircraft ordered in Jun-05.
The aircraft are scheduled for delivery from Jul-06 to 2011.
The carrier will offer no in-flight entertainment or meal services, however will offer beverages. CEO, Bruce Ashby, stated,we are open to the idea of snack items being served. However, it would be impossible for us to offer low fares if we have to deliver hot food to the aircraft.
The carrier has start-up capital of USD80 million, which will increase to USD250 million by 2008. Mr Ashby stated, we hope to break-even over a 12 to 18 month time-frame.
IndiGo plans to operate to four undisclosed destinations by Jul-06, with Delhi as one of its hubs and has reportedly reserved parking bays at Delhi and Mumbai airports. |
