IndiGo, a proposed LCC backed by Interglobe Enterprises, announced (23-Nov-05) plans to defer its launch from 2005 to Feb-06.
IndiGo is scheduled to receive deliveries of its 100 A320 aircraft commencing Jul-06. Details include:
- Launch: Feb-06;
- Fleet: Delivery of 100 A320s will begin from Jul-06, with six in 2006, nine in 2007, eight in 2008 and one every five weeks to 2016;
- Fares: 40% lower than the full service carriers and 10-15% higher than second class air conditioned train fares;
- Investors: Interglobe Enterprises and Rakesh Gangwal;
- Capital: Initial capital of USD80 million, increasing to USD250 million by 2008.
