InterGlobe Enterprises Limited ordered (16 June) 100 A320s for its planned low cost carrier, IndiGo.
Other details include:
- Launch: 1Q2006;
- Promoters: InterGlobe Enterprises Ltd (Indian travel conglomerate) and Rakesh Gangwal (former US Airways CEO).
- Fleet: Three aircraft initially, rising to four within 30 days of launch, to five aircraft within two months and eight within six months;
- Other: Has acquired three aircraft parking bays at both Mumbai and Delhi airports.
