View More Air India Express News In its first phase, the airline will operate 43 services per week from five Indian cities - Trivandrum, Cochin, Calicut, Delhi and Mumbai to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain (UAE) and Muscat and Salalah in Oman. Air India Express is initially operating three B737-800s on lease from Boullioun Aviation Services with 181 seats in a single class configuration. It is offering fares 20-40% below competitors. According to Air India spokesman, Jeetendra Bhargava our objective is to make travel affordable and spur growth. The earlier you buy your ticket, the cheaper the fare. Air Indias Board has approved the acquisition of 18 B737-800s over the next two years for the low cost carrier, subject to government approval. The aircraft would enable Air India Express to operate 14 aircraft by March 2006, offering 127 weekly services to the Gulf and Southeast Asia, including services to Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Jakarta. |
