View More Air India News Under this scheme an FFP member travelling on any domestic IC-designated flight originating from any of the six metros can upgrade his economy class ticket to Executive class, subject to availability of seats, against redemption of mileage points and Add On Mileage Points (AOMPs). The member would be required to redeem 50% of normal economy class redemption mileage for this sector to avail of the upgrade.
The scheme is available to members of the India Programme (F, G and S series). Members with valid paid ticket in any booking class as well as award tickets would qualify provided the journey originates at any of the 6 metros. The passenger can avail of the facility between 2 hours to 45 minutes before scheduled departure of the flight provided seats are available in Executive class subject to obtaining the upgrade authority from the Member Service Centre (MSC) / Airport Extension Counter.
In case seats are available in Executive class the upgrade can be processed immediately. The passenger is required to contact the FFP Airport Extension Counter where the MSC personnel process the upgrade request after perusing the member copy of the e-ticket and signed original FFP card. The upgrade letter is handed over to the FFP member against signature on a duplicate of the same and putting a cross reference of a photo id card. For member’s nominees, processing would be done on the basis of member’s signed copy of original FFP card, authorization from the member, e-ticket and photo id card.
The upgrade authority would be flights specific and in case of cancellation of flight the 50% points redeemed for up gradation would be credited back to the account of the FFP member.
The scheme is in addition to the existing scheme on Upgrade facility against mileage points for both Air India – AI and IC designated flights on confirmed basis available four days before departure of flights.
The airline has recently introduced Discounted Redemption offer programme to its Flying Returns members which is valid till 30-Sep-2009.
