Air Deccan's network to be leveraged
(CAPA): Vijay Mallya, CEO of Kingfisher Airlines, has outlined his strategy for the two carriers, stating that Air Deccans network is a key asset that will be leveraged.

Kingfisher will operate on the high-density metro routes, which will be rationalised so as not to overlap with Air Deccan connections. The focus of the LCC will be to leverage its tier 2 and 3 city network, which Mallya believes has “huge potential”. Mallya states, “Some of the synergies between Air Deccan and Kingfisher are already being exploited, and I am confident Air Deccan will turn profitable in this financial year".

Kingfisher Airlines parent, United Breweries Holdings Ltd (UB), recently acquired a 26% shareholding in Deccan Aviation, for approximately USD130 million.

Kingfisher and Air Deccan have a combined network of 537 services to 69 destinations in India.
