GoAir to invest in engineering, ground services and cargo
(CAPA): GoAir announced plans to establish engineering, ground services and cargo operations.

Each division will operate independently of the carrier, and will have separate CEOs reporting to Jeh Wadia, Managing Director of GoAir. The carrier has already formed a JV with SIA Engineering to establish an engineering facility. The new business units have been named; GoEngineering, GoGround Services and GoCargo.

The carrier also announced plans to expand its fleet to 18 aircraft by 2009 and 35 aircraft by 2011. Wadia stated, “This is a conservative plan and will be revised to more aggressive growth once the industry shows signs of improvement”.

Meanwhile, Wadia denied reports he was stepping down.
