Paramount Airways launched in Oct-2005 as a regional, full service carrier. The carrier, which is owned by a large textile business, Paramount Mills, is the first to operate Embraer regional jets for scheduled services in India. Based in Chennai, Paramount Airways is initially focused on serving routes in Southern India, although it has stated that it subsequently plans to expand its operations nationally. The airline operates a two-class configuration termed Business and First.
